Toning Up Tuesday: Favorite At-Home Accessories

Over the past weeks, I've covered the major toning areas for Toning Up Tuesday. Today I'm going to share my favorite products to use at home that maximize the effects of your workouts. This post will end my Toning Up Tuesday series and next week will kick off Wind Down Wednesday :)

My savior when doing at-home yoga are my Gaiam yoga blocks. I have 2 and they're useful when I'm doing a pose I could pull a muscle in. I used the blocks a lot after I had neck surgery because I was so nervous of pushing myself too far. They're also ideal for Pilates.

Another staple is a stability ball. This item has so many different uses. I use the stability ball for abs, arms, back, legs and glutes. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, the ball can always help improve your workout.

DVD's and YouTube videos are also important. The great thing about them is you can choose what you want to do. Don't want to do an hour of yoga today? Opt for Hilaria Baldwin's Yoga With a View. Want to sweat, relax and tone? Go for Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown. YouTube has some great options that go by target zone or time.

A small medicine ball is great to have around for extra resistance for crunches or side twists. I have a super small one that does the trick.

And one of my favorite "plus'" of an at-home workout? I get to wear whatever I'd like. I don't have to dress all cute and I can wear my old favorite yoga pants that have holes everywhere!

What are your at-home toning essentials? Favorite part of doing your workout at home?

Xo,
Lynette
