Manduka NowIsWow Giveaway

On Wednesday I gave you a preview of an upcoming giveaway I have been talking about for a couple of weeks. Let's jump into spring with colorful yoga accessories from Manduka! This is my first giveaway/contest and I'm really excited for everyone to participate.

Manduka reached out to me on behalf of their NowIsWow campaign. What is it? When you upload a photo to Instagram or Tweet and tag it #NowIsWow, or to the Facebook Now=Wow contest page you have an opportunity to win an entire set of Manduka products in the color of the week.

In addition, for each photo tagged #NowIsWow or uploaded to the Facebook entry page, Manduka will make a $1 donation to Off the Mat, Into the World, a non-profit organization inspiring leaders who are fully present.

I don't know about you but I'm all for charity, and yoga. My giveaway will be one of the eQua towels in the color Pop.

This towel is spectacular. It offers a no-slip grip so during hot classes, you can perform all poses correct without slipping and sliding. It absorbs sweat quickly so you're not sitting in a puddle and comes in the most perfect spring colors.

How to win? I know you're all going to hate me for this but I want this to be interactive. In the comments, please tell me:

1. Why you started practicing yoga?

2. Your favorite pose?
3. Favorite studio?
4. What you take away from each class?

Here are my answers:

1. Why you started practicing yoga? I started for several reasons. To clear my mind, tone, cross train and stretch my body out.
2. Your favorite pose? Warrior Two (I have no idea why!)
3. Favorite studio? SLT or my little pay what you can in Montauk
4. What you take away from each class? I take away the fact that I pushed my body to accomplish something, an empty and open mind and a feeling of relaxation with no stress following me home.

This contest will run until March 20, the start of spring!

I look forward to reading your answers. Good Luck!

Xo,

Lynette

  2. 1. I started because I needed to work on my flexibility.
    2. I just starting doing yoga regularly, so I can't do any of the advanced poses. My current favorite is Anjaneyasana, low lunge. I feel my entire body opening up when I do it.
    3. I don't have a studio. I use DVDs.
    4. I love that when I start my yoga session, everything else goes away. By the time I'm finished, I've found balance.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I started practicing yoga to de-stress and help with injury prevention. My favorite pose is pigeon pose, such a great hip opener. I loved the Bikram studio in downtown Santa Cruz when I lived there but don't currently belong to one. Usually from a class, I take away the knowledge that life is a blessing and not to take it for granted.

    3. I live in a small town, so we don't have a yoga studio. I take a class at my gym.

  9. 1. I started practicing yoga because I just wanted to try something different from the high-intensity kickboxing and running I was used to. Now I'm addicted!

    2. For some reason I've always loved tree pose. I'm also a big fan of scorpion.

    3. I go to a small independent yoga/fitness studio that just opened in Rehobeth, MA. Shanti Yoga and Fitness. The instructor is fantastic!

    4. Each class relaxes and strengthens me and I leave with a better body awareness. I feel like I am always finding out new things about myself every time I practice yoga.

  10. The primary reason I started practicing is because yoga is similar to pavement, as far as offering an always ready, non-judgmental friendship. The prevalence of daily competition, whether it be with others or yourself, is exhausting. It is refreshing that yoga provides an opportunity to push personal limits at any time and in any place.

I choose to start every class with an intention not an expectation; which affords me the courage to try difficult poses (like my favorite, flying crow) without being hard on myself(when I flop on the mat, Savasana de Amanda). I feel that sense of fearlessness is the greatest gift yoga offers. The place I have enjoyed practicing my fearlessness the most has been in Hana, Maui at the Hana Hotel over-looking the Pacific Ocean.
