The UWS's Newest Hot Spot

What are you doing this week or next weekend? Obviously going to the Upper West Side's most delicious new restaurant. The Social House opened last weekend and I got to attend a sneak peek a few days beforehand! Full disclosure: The person opening this restaurant may or may not be married to my boss :)

The interior is absolutely stunning. Check out the gorgeous overhead lights and table settings. The dim lighting gives it a nice, romantic touch perfect for date night. In the midst of frat-like bars it's nice to have a more upscale option.

Since this was a tasting me and my co-workers got to order whatever our little hearts desired which translated to let's try a little bit of everything.

Drinks came first where most of us ordered The Knickerbocker. Although it is pink, it was strong!

From the small plates we ordered the Figs on Horseback, Peel and Eat Shrimp with Cilantro Aioli and Striped Bass Ceviche with Blue Corn Chips and Avocado Mousse.

In addition to the small plates and before our main meals we got the Roasted Wild Mushroom, Grilled Kale and Smoked Goat Cheese flat-bread along with triple cooked fries.

Everything was so tasty and gone within 5 minutes of being on the table. Hence no photos!

For entrees it was a split between the Garlic & Rosemary Brick Chicken with Preserved Lemon and Roasted Hangar Steak with Chimmichurri Sauce. Amazing. The portions were just right. Actually according to others there was a lot of chicken but I may or may not have inhaled it all. I do hope to get back soon and test out the other options.

When we were done eating I got up to check out the bar area which had high-top tables for dinner or drinks.

If you find yourself on the UWS on Amsterdam between 81st and 82nd, I highly recommend checking it out. Brand new, amazing chef, delicious drinks. What more could you ask for?

Xo,
Lynette
